moth-er-fly

This was as close as I got to a butterfly shot all summer-- pretty sure that despite looking pretty in flight, this is a moth-y thing [shot in September].

The details in this little guys' eyes are pretty cool.

swimming in a crowd

I was thinking these leaves turned out looking too orange given our predominantly dull fall, so I went back by today to re-calibrate my eyes, and they are indeed quite orange in person.

some sun

This is another photo from July that I'd meant to convert to black+white, but never quite got to it.

a visit from July

Somehow this summer kind of got away from me, and I took more pictures than I posted. These are from July.

danger

These shots are from 2007, both taken with my point-n-shoot. I still consider them wonderfully depicted signs.

leaves, 2012 version

Fall has been very yellow and brown this year; I went out and took a few pictures nonetheless and found a few grains of color.

Zoo Brew

Some mornings just feel chaotic, and no amount of warm, comforting beverage will be curative.

coffee

We were at a restaurant over the summer, and they had a fun display of coffee mug photos in the waiting area. The artist had embarked on a cup-a-day photo project, and photographed his coffee cup on a daily basis. He was quite creative, and I really enjoyed the collection. Unfortunately, I did not write down his website, and now, 3 months later, when I remembered how fun his perspective was, I have been unable to find his photos. I kind of think it is no longer online. Regardless, his work made me want to take pictures of my own coffee cup on a somewhat regular basis (even knowing that the pictures may all be taken within 10 feet of my coffee maker and knowing that I can't hold a camera steady once I've ingested caffeine). I only drink coffee sometimes on the weekends and vacations, so this will in no way become a daily goal for me :) Here is my first coffee cup shot, and I do have to admit, it wasn't even my cup of joe.

Cake

I've been too busy eating cake to blog. Incidentally, this is the first macro I've used my speedlite for.
