the houseplant

I seem to take pictures of this plant every year when it is blooming. It was, in fact, blooming when I first rented a macro lens, and therefore was the first thing I played with a macro lens on. This year, to be different, I decided to take pictures of it while the buds were just starting to appear.

pumpkin hunting

The same shot I took last year? Maybe. But it was muddy last year, and merely dusty this year. The pumpkins are different too.

Speaking of last year's shot, here it is again. I kind of wanted to see them together just to highlight the lack of creativity this year.

Oregon Pinot

One of the most hyped Oregon wine varietals is the Pinot Noir. My favorite so far has been this Pinot from the Apollini Vineyards. Really, all their wine has been fabulous. We did recently visit the aforementioned vineyard and do a tasting, but the bad photographer in me did not take any pictures of the perfectly picturesque setting. Oops.

I do think I like this better in black/white [this is a different exposure though].

Apparently 2009 was a good year.
