flower umbrella

I grew up in a Land devoid of flowering trees, and because of that, blooming canopies of trees are my favorite feature of Spring.

Daffodils in Distress

Last time it snowed I didn't think to photograph snow-capped daffodils until after the snow had melted. I assumed (erroneously) that I'd have to wait years for the chance to present itself again. Nope. I had to wait a whole week.

This kind of looks like a stick-n-stone tea, but in actuality it is a Tazo Passion tea. I cannot vouch for its taste, as I did not drink it.

from Russia, with love?

My brother brought me back this toilet paper when he visited Russia 5 or so years ago. It does not look very soft.

I'm not a big fan of this one, I'm just including it because it snowed this morning (??!). Of course, it was a mushy snow, with rain coming down while I was out with my camera.

curls, contained

What would be more challenging that transforming a moving head-full of crazy curls into a braid? Yes, photographing said motion-prone braid.

I thought these leaves had nice texture in addition to the fun water droplets. These shots are all fairly similar, but I am posting them all anyhow.

Flower Season

With the arrival of March, I feel Flower Season is officially open. I'm kind of excited to re-interpret some of the same flowers I shot last spring.

100mm, f/5.0, 1/100, 1250 ISO [Day 336/366]

Just for fun, here's the same species of flower last spring, even in the same yard I believe. Hmmm. In my defense, that was the first day I took my macro lens out to shoot plants. Still. I'm happy to say I've grown quite a bit over the past year.
