When walking around Portland, you may be lucky enough to spot a horse tethered to one of the many horse-rings that are on the sidewalks through the city. Of course, no one really rides horses in the streets anymore, and the horse you'll be looking to spy will be a plastic horse. People think it is funny to attach toy horses to the sturdy metal rings stuck in the concrete. Of course, just as in days gone by, horse thieves abound, which makes a sighting all the more fleeting. I did spot a horse that looks like it has been around a while.
