for the birds

I actually got up early this weekend to go out and play with my camera. It was too windy to do my typical macros, so I shot birds instead.

This guy couldn't decide if I was going to feed him or eat him.

100mm, f/4.0, 1/60, 1600 ISO [Day 310/366]

This guy was pretty sure he did not like me.

Red winged Blackbird

300mm, f/4.0, 1/160, 400 ISO [Day 310/366]

Quack.

300mm, f/4.0, 1/125, 640 ISO [Day 310/366]

Pretty sure this thing quacks too.
[Muscovy Duck, Cairina moschata]

300mm, f/4.0, 1/200, 500 ISO [Day 310/366]

Could have, Should have...this hummingbird was beautiful, and despite being armed with my 300mm lens, I still was too close for his comfort. Oh, and I did a bad job with focus- the bird is the blur (with red) in the background.

I kind of hung around within sight of this bush hoping the hummingbird would come back, but no luck.
