crocus focus

The rain stopped about 60 seconds before I took this picture, and started up again maybe 4 minutes afterwards; that is what we call "shower breaks."

I thought these lines could make for a fun monotone.

I'm pretty sure that the purple and white contrast of the flower cannot be beat, however.

Chocolate makes everything better

I was a little disappointed in the day's pictures, so I turned to chocolate as a "fix." While the photos themselves may not have been improved by my chocolate conversion, I do feel better. Incidentally, I did learn that this bird is a Song Sparrow [probably Melospiza melodia morphna].

for the birds

I actually got up early this weekend to go out and play with my camera. It was too windy to do my typical macros, so I shot birds instead.

This guy couldn't decide if I was going to feed him or eat him.

This guy was pretty sure he did not like me.

Could have, Should have...this hummingbird was beautiful, and despite being armed with my 300mm lens, I still was too close for his comfort. Oh, and I did a bad job with focus- the bird is the blur (with red) in the background.
