budding buds and lines

January: time for buds to show themselves. Right?
[Paper Bush, Edgeworthia chrysantha]

It feels uncomfortable to me to have the subject on this side of the frame.

Different plant, fun lines.

  2. Nice images... I like how the last couple are just form and shape... but still leafy in texture. A bud opening from the right of a frame feels less natural because we are used to reading text from the left. We "read" images the same way. I wonder if images feel the same to arabic and hebrew speaking people? It is more apparent in landscapes.. where a path leads in from the bottom right for instance... it just feels off. You can create a mirror of the image... unless you consider that cheating. :)

  3. That last one - I wouldn't have known it was a plant if you hadn't mentioned it. Wow! Looks really cool!
