Tofu of the meat world...with a hint of lavender

This weekend was the Lavender Festival Weekend. I think we went to the one participating venue that truly lacked loads of lavender, although they more than made up for it in alpacas. I learned a lot about alpacas today. My favorite tidbit is that alpacas are "the tofu of the meat world," namely, lacking flavor on their own. The alpacas on this ranch were not raised for their taste-less meat.

We got a wonderful behind-the-fences tour, and got to meet everybody. Alpacas are really quite friendly.

Alpacas only have teeth on the bottom.
