The Gloomy forest

This would have been a perfect hike to play with my macro lens, but I hadn't anticipated how much I would miss it, and it was sitting at home instead of on my camera. These pictures were all shot with my 50mm.

There are lots of rhododendrons along the trail, but only a few were even close to blooming.

I saw 3 or 4 paintbrush beginning to bloom.

This was the moment that I most wished I'd brought my macro lens; this little guy was popping around the rocks right by my camera bag. He was probably 1-1.5 inches, sadly there is no sense of scale in this picture.

March 16

These are my favorite flowers on the street, and they bloomed early this year.

more pink

These were taken the day after that last set. It was a misty morning, with the sun starting to pop out. The little water droplets made less of an impact that I'd hoped.

I've spent 10 springs admiring this tree; finally this year I took a few photos. These are from about 2 weeks ago.
